About

Cricket Canada has one of the oldest cricket traditions in the Americas, with the game having been played in Canada since the 19th century — the first recorded international cricket match in history was played between the United States and Canada in 1844. Canada appeared in the 2003 and 2011 ODI World Cups, and their most famous player was John Davison, who at the time hit the fastest century in ODI World Cup history against the West Indies in 2003. The modern game in Canada is driven by a large South Asian diaspora, predominantly Indo-Canadian communities in Ontario and British Columbia. Maple Leaf Cricket Club in King City, Ontario, serves as the primary international venue. Canada are working toward T20 World Cup qualification and have a vibrant domestic T20 competition. The growth of Major League Cricket in the neighbouring United States has increased interest in cricket broadly across North America.
