Cricket Series & Tournaments — What This Page Covers

This page lists all major active, upcoming, and recently completed international cricket series and franchise tournaments accessible on GeoCric. Each series card links to a dedicated page with live standings, match schedules, squad lists, top batting and bowling statistics, and a series-specific news feed. The page is divided into Men's and Women's cricket — use the toggle at the top right to switch between sections.

International cricket is organised around the ICC's event calendar. The World Test Championship (WTC) runs in two-year cycles, with every Test series between Full Members counting towards the standings. The ICC Men's Cricket World Cup (ODI format, 50 overs) takes place every four years — the next edition is the 2027 World Cup. The T20 World Cup runs every two years and is the most-watched cricket event globally. The ICC Champions Trophy (8-team ODI knockout) returned in 2025 after an eight-year gap. Bilateral series — Test series between two nations, ODI tri-series, T20I bilateral series — fill the gaps between major events throughout the year.

Franchise cricket runs year-round across multiple leagues. The Indian Premier League (IPL, April–May) is the world's highest- attended and highest-revenue cricket competition. The Pakistan Super League (PSL, February–March) and South Africa's SA20 (January–February) have established themselves as top-tier competitions. The Big Bash League (BBL, December–January) covers the Australian summer. The ILT20 (UAE, January), CPL (Caribbean, August), LPL (Sri Lanka, July), and The Hundred (England, August) fill the rest of the calendar. Women's franchise leagues — the Women's Premier League (WPL), Women's Big Bash (WBBL), and The Hundred Women's — are growing rapidly in both audience and prize money. All major tournaments in both sections are covered on this page with live updates and series archive links.

Cricket Series — Tests, ODIs, T20Is & Franchise Leagues

A cricket series is a collection of matches between two teams — or among several teams in a tournament format — played over a defined window of time. The international calendar is divided into bilateral series (one nation hosting another for a sequence of Tests, ODIs or T20Is) and ICC events (World Cups, Champions Trophies, World Test Championship). The franchise calendar sits alongside it, running through six-to-ten-week windows in the Indian Premier League, Pakistan Super League, Big Bash League, Caribbean Premier League, The Hundred and other leagues.

Test seriesare the longest format, typically three to five matches across three to six weeks. They carry the most prestige and accumulate ICC World Test Championship points that determine which two nations meet in the WTC Final. The most famous bilateral Test series are named trophies: the Ashes (England vs Australia), the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (India vs Australia), the Basil D'Oliveira Trophy (England vs South Africa), and the Frank Worrell Trophy (Australia vs West Indies). A series result alters the historical record permanently and shapes how a team's era is remembered.

ODI seriestypically run three to five matches over one to two weeks. They contribute to the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League standings, which determine qualification for the 50-over World Cup. One-Day cricket is the format of the World Cup and the Champions Trophy — the two most-watched events in the international calendar — and bilateral ODI series serve as preparation and form benchmarking for both. India vs Pakistan ODIs, when they occur in a neutral-venue Asia Cup or World Cup setting, are among the most-watched sporting events in the world.

T20I seriesare the shortest and most frequent bilateral contests, usually three to five matches across one week. They feed ICC rankings that determine seedings for the T20 World Cup, held every two years. T20Is are also the primary showcase format for players developing their franchise reputations — an outstanding T20I series frequently precedes a major IPL or BBL auction deal. The ICC T20 World Cup, first held in 2007, has produced some of the most iconic moments in modern cricket: MS Dhoni's six off Joginder Sharma in the 2007 final, Carlos Brathwaite's four consecutive sixes off Ben Stokes in 2016, Virat Kohli's match-winning 82* against Pakistan in 2022.

Franchise leaguesrun on a fixed annual calendar. The Indian Premier League (IPL, March–May) is the world's wealthiest domestic cricket competition and sets the global market rate for players of every nationality. The Pakistan Super League (PSL, February–March), Big Bash League (BBL, December–January), Caribbean Premier League (CPL, August–September), The Hundred (July–August) and SA20 (January) fill the rest of the year. All current franchise leagues are available on the series archive, with links to fixtures, standings and results.
