About
Royal Dutch Cricket Association fields one of the most multicultural squads in world cricket, drawing players from the Netherlands' South Asian and Caribbean diaspora communities. The Netherlands achieved one of the 2022 T20 World Cup's biggest upsets by defeating South Africa, a Full Member nation, in their Super 12 group match — a result that sent shockwaves through global cricket. Captain Scott Edwards, a wicketkeeper-batter of exceptional quality, leads a team that regularly challenges for major ICC event qualification. The Netherlands are one of the oldest national cricket associations in the world, affiliated with the ICC since 1966. Their home ground at VRA Cricket Club in Amsterdam hosts international fixtures, and the team has produced players who go on to club cricket across England and Scotland. Bas de Leede — son of former Netherlands international Tim de Leede — is one of the team's most versatile all-rounders and contributes across batting, medium-pace bowling, and catching. Netherlands' long-term ambition is securing ODI status and consistent appearances at T20 World Cups.
