About
Emirates Cricket Board has developed one of cricket's most important hub venues: Dubai International Cricket Stadium, which hosts numerous ICC events, franchise T20 leagues, and neutral-venue series for Pakistan. The UAE's cricketing strength comes from its cosmopolitan population — the national team draws players from the South Asian and African communities that make up much of the UAE's workforce. Captain Muhammad Waseem is a gifted T20 batter who has represented the UAE in multiple ICC global events. The UAE qualified for the 2021 and 2022 T20 World Cups and are regular participants in ICC T20 World Cup qualifying rounds. Dubai and Abu Dhabi have both hosted IPL matches, PSL games, and Test series between Pakistan and other nations at neutral venues, giving the UAE a central role in global cricket's geography beyond just their national team's performances.
