Uganda
About
Cricket Uganda qualified for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup, marking a landmark achievement for East African cricket and Uganda's most significant cricketing milestone. Their appearance at the West Indies and USA tournament in June 2024 gave Uganda its first taste of the sport's global showpiece, and while they were eliminated in the group stage, the experience was invaluable for the squad's development. Uganda's cricket programme has grown substantially in the 2020s, supported by ICC investment in African cricket development. Their success was built on a passionate domestic club structure in Kampala and regional leagues. The Kyambogo Cricket Oval is their primary international venue. Uganda's qualification showed that East African cricket is rising, with the country producing competitive players who combine natural athleticism with technical development through ICC coaching programmes. They are considered one of Africa's fastest-improving cricketing nations.
