Southern Brave
The Hundred 2026 · Ageas Bowl, Southampton
The inaugural men's champions and Hampshire's Hundred franchise — Southern Brave lit up the first ever edition of The Hundred in 2021. Three women's finals in a row since 2023 show this is a franchise built to win. The Ageas Bowl awaits.
The Southern Brave Story
When The Hundred launched in 2021, Southern Brave wrote themselves into history as the competition's first ever men's champions. Hampshire's franchise — led by James Vince and powered by Quinton de Kock's explosive batting — swept through the tournament to beat Birmingham Phoenix in the Lord's final.
Based at The Ageas Bowl on England's south coast, the Brave play at one of the country's most modern and atmospheric venues. Hampshire completed a new high-capacity redevelopment that makes the Ageas Bowl a genuine fortress for Hundred cricket.
While the men's side hasn't won since that inaugural triumph, the women's squad has been a model of consistency — reaching three consecutive finals from 2023 to 2025. The 2026 season is the Brave's best chance yet to claim both titles.

FAQs
Have Southern Brave won The Hundred?
Yes — Southern Brave won the first ever men's Hundred title in 2021, beating Birmingham Phoenix in the final at Lord's. It was a fitting win for Hampshire's franchise, with Quinton de Kock and James Vince starring. They have been runners-up in the men's competition in 2024 and the women's competition three times (2023, 2024, 2025), making them perennial contenders who have yet to recapture that opening glory.
Where do Southern Brave play their home matches?
Southern Brave play at The Ageas Bowl (also known as the Utilita Bowl) in West End, Southampton — Hampshire's home ground on the south coast of England. The ground also hosts international cricket and is one of England's most modern cricket venues, offering a stunning backdrop for The Hundred.
Who are Southern Brave's key players?
James Vince, Hampshire's captain, has been at the heart of the Brave since the competition's launch. Quinton de Kock's batting power proved decisive in the 2021 title win. Chris Jordan provides world-class T20 bowling in the death overs. The women's squad has been built around England internationals including Danni Wyatt-Hodge and Maia Bouchier, though rosters change each season through the draft.
Why have Southern Brave been runners-up so often in the women's competition?
Southern Brave's women's side has reached three consecutive finals (2023, 2024, 2025) without winning — a remarkable record of consistency that underlines the quality of the squad but also the dominance first of Northern Superchargers and then London Spirit. The 2026 season gives them another opportunity to finally claim a women's title.
