About ILT20
The ILT20 — International League T20 — is the UAE's premier T20 franchise competition, launched in 2023 under the Emirates Cricket Board with investment from several IPL ownership groups. Six franchises — Desert Vipers, Gulf Giants, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Dubai Capitals, MI Emirates, and Sharjah Warriors — contest the tournament across December and January at three venues: Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The ILT20 window precedes the SA20 and BBL finals, making it the opening act of the southern-hemisphere franchise cricket season. UAE-based venues offer neutral, high-quality playing surfaces in a location that is geographically accessible to players from South Asia, the Middle East, and East Africa, giving the competition a diverse roster of international talent. The ILT20 has a specific role in Associate cricket development: UAE national players participate alongside overseas stars, raising the competitive standard for the host nation's emerging professionals. The competition is broadcast across South Asia and the Middle East, reaching cricket audiences in markets where the IPL has also built strong fan bases. GeoCric covers every ILT20 result, the points table, and player statistics.
