The Mechanics

In the back-of-hand delivery, the hand is rotated so the back of the hand faces the batsman — the fingers are now in front of the ball rather than behind it. At release, instead of the fingers pushing the ball forward, they peel away from the ball as the hand rotates back to its normal position.
