Modern professional fielders dive routinely without injury risk (because their core strength and muscle condition allow full-extension dives), throw from the boundary at 100+ km/h with accuracy, and sprint 40 metres in 4.5-5.0 seconds to cut off balls that would previously have gone for boundaries.

The paradox: fitter fast bowlers bowl faster and at higher intensity for longer periods, creating greater cumulative stress on joints, ligaments, and vertebrae.
