Starc's signature delivery is the left-arm inswinging yorker — it moves from outside off stump, late in flight, into the right-handed batter's feet. At 145+ kph with late swing, it is almost impossible to play. Right-handers have limited room to manoeuvre and the angle creates a different challenge than right-arm pace. It is the defining delivery of modern Australian cricket.

World Cup performances

Starc was named Player of the Tournament at the 2015 World Cup in Australia — with 22 wickets in the tournament. He bowled the final delivery of the 2015 and 2023 World Cups — both times on the winning side. In the 2023 World Cup final in India, he took 2 wickets in India's collapse to 240 and then picked up the final wicket.
