Shaheen Afridi Cricket Career Explained

Shaheen Shah Afridi is Pakistan's most dangerous pace bowler of the modern era — a left-arm fast bowler who swings the ball both ways, can extract bounce from any surface, and regularly bowls at 140–150 km/h. Born on 6 April 2000 in Khyber Agency, KPK, he announced himself to the world as a teenager and has never looked back.

Early Life and Rise

Afridi came from a cricket-playing family in north-western Pakistan. He was fast-tracked through the age-group system after his extreme pace and natural swing drew immediate attention. By the age of 18 he was playing Tests for Pakistan.

Left-Arm Swing Threat

Afridi's left-arm angle gives him a natural in-swinger to right-handed batters — pitching just outside off and swinging into the right-hander's body or pads. He can also angle the ball away from the bat or angle it across the left-hander with movement off the seam.
