The Hundred Teams 2026 Explained

The Hundred is the ECB's city-based franchise cricket competition featuring eight teams — each with a men's and women's side — that play 100-ball matches across July and August each year. Launched in 2021, the competition has grown into one of the most-watched domestic cricket events in England and Wales. Here are the eight franchises.

Oval Invincibles — The Oval, London

Based at The Oval (home of Surrey CCC), the Oval Invincibles play in gold and black. The women's team have been one of the strongest in the competition. The Oval provides a large, flat pitch that historically favours batters, making Invincibles matches high-scoring affairs.

London Spirit — Lord's Cricket Ground

London Spirit are based at the most famous cricket ground in the world — Lord's. They play in blue and white. Lord's' slope and unique conditions make it one of the most distinctive T20 venues in the game, and Spirit matches at HQ attract cricket lovers keen to see the format at its spiritual home.

Trent Rockets — Trent Bridge, Nottingham

Trent Rockets play at Trent Bridge — known as one of England's most batter-friendly grounds. Playing in red and black, the Rockets are one of the best-supported franchises outside London and have a strong men's team.

Birmingham Phoenix — Edgbaston

Birmingham Phoenix are based at Edgbaston — one of England's most atmospheric grounds, famous for its crowd noise. Playing in orange and black, the Phoenix have passionate West Midlands support. Edgbaston's covered stands and large crowd capacity make it one of the best venues for night cricket in England.

Manchester Originals — Emirates Old Trafford

Manchester Originals play at Emirates Old Trafford, home of Lancashire CCC. Their coral and black kit is distinctive and their fanbase in the North West of England is large and vocal. Old Trafford's new stands create a modern, electric T20 atmosphere.

Northern Superchargers — Headingley, Leeds

Northern Superchargers are based at Headingley — Yorkshire CCC's famous ground in Leeds. Playing in yellow and blue, the Superchargers represent Yorkshire and the North of England. Headingley's unique atmosphere under the famous Football Stand makes it a special venue for The Hundred.

Southern Brave — Rose Bowl, Southampton

Southern Brave are based at the Utilita Bowl (Rose Bowl) in Southampton, home of Hampshire CCC. Playing in red and white, the Brave represent the South Coast of England and have built a loyal fanbase across Hampshire and the surrounding area.

Welsh Fire — Sophia Gardens, Cardiff

Welsh Fire are the only franchise based outside England, playing at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff — home of Glamorgan CCC. Playing in red and yellow, the Fire represent Wales and the South West, bringing The Hundred to Cardiff's passionate cricket-loving community.
