From Dropped to Hero: The Ashes 2023
In the 2023 Ashes in England, Head was dropped for the first Test and recalled for the second at Lord's. He scored 77 in the first innings; in the second innings, chasing 371, he scored 92*. Australia won the Test. Over the series he scored 548 runs in 9 innings at an average of 60.88, including the crucial 77 at Headingley that killed England's momentum.
