Yorkshire County Cricket Club is the most successful county in English domestic cricket history, having won the County Championship 33 times. Founded in 1863, the White Rose county plays its home matches at Headingley in Leeds, one of England's most iconic cricket venues.

The County Championship Record

Yorkshire's 33 County Championship titles dwarf every other county. Their golden era ran from the 1960s under Brian Close and Fred Trueman, winning seven titles in a row from 1962 to 1968. The county also won titles in 2014 and 2015 under Andrew Gale's captaincy.

Headingley: The Home Ground

Headingley has hosted some of cricket's most memorable moments, none more so than the 1981 Ashes Test where Ian Botham scored 149* and Bob Willis took 8/43 to secure an improbable victory. It remains an England Test venue and also hosts Ashes matches.

The Roses Match between Yorkshire and Lancashire is English domestic cricket's oldest and fiercest rivalry, dating from the 19th century. Named after the War of the Roses (red for Lancashire, white for Yorkshire), these four-day County Championship matches attract passionate crowds.
