About Lanka Premier League 2026
The Lanka Premier League is Sri Lanka Cricket's premier T20 franchise competition, played in July each year at venues across the island. LPL 2026 runs from 1 July to 20 July, featuring five franchises — Colombo Strikers, Dambulla Sixers, Galle Gladiators, Jaffna Kings, and Kandy Falcons — competing at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy and R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The LPL window follows the end of the IPL and sits before the Caribbean Premier League, providing overseas players with a mid-summer franchise option in the subcontinent. Sri Lanka has a rich T20 tradition — the Dambulla Sixers, rebranded from earlier franchises, and Jaffna Kings have been the most consistent performers since the league's relaunch. The competition gives emerging Sri Lankan domestic players a direct pathway to play alongside international stars, raising the competitive floor of the domestic T20 programme. Sri Lanka's board has invested in upgrading the LPL's production quality and overseas recruitment to raise the tournament's profile alongside competitors from the SA20, PSL, and CPL on the global franchise calendar. GeoCric tracks every LPL 2026 match with live scores, the points table, and full player statistics.
