What Is Conventional Swing?
Conventional swing is the lateral movement of a cricket ball through the air produced by exploiting the asymmetry between its two sides. One side is polished smooth by the fielding team while the other is allowed to roughen naturally. The smooth side creates lower air pressure and the rough side higher pressure, causing the ball to curve toward the smooth side in flight.
Outswing and Inswing
Outswing moves away from a right-handed batter toward the slip cordon. The bowler positions the seam upright and angled toward slip with the smooth side facing the batter. Inswing curves into the right-hander toward their pads. The seam is angled toward fine leg and the smooth side faces away from the batter. Both deliveries are most dangerous when pitched on a full length to challenge the drive or the defensive push.

Grip and Action
