Karachi Kings

Karachi Kings are one of the six founding franchises of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), representing Karachi — Pakistan's largest city and commercial capital with a population of over 20 million. The team plays in blue and white and represents a cricket-mad city with a rich history of producing Pakistan's greatest players. The franchise competes at the National Stadium Karachi, one of Pakistan's most historic cricket grounds.

PSL 2020 Champions

Karachi Kings won their only PSL title in 2020 — the season that was disrupted by COVID-19 and had to be completed in November 2020 after a March suspension. Despite the irregular circumstances, the title was fully celebrated by Karachi's massive cricket fanbase. The 2020 win came under the captaincy of Imad Wasim, and the squad featured several international stars.

Famous Players

Karachi Kings have recruited some of cricket's biggest names as overseas marquee players including Kumar Sangakkara (who also served as a mentor), Colin Ingram, and various other international cricketers. Pakistani players associated with the franchise include Babar Azam — Pakistan's batting superstar who captained the Kings before being released — and Shahid Afridi in his farewell seasons.

Karachi as a Cricket City

Karachi has produced more Pakistan Test cricketers than any other city in the country. The National Stadium Karachi has hosted some of Pakistan's most memorable Test moments. After a decade without international cricket in Pakistan following the 2009 Lahore attack, Karachi's National Stadium hosted Pakistan's return to home Test cricket when Sri Lanka toured in 2019.
