Kumar Sangakkara played Test cricket for Sri Lanka between 2000 and 2015, accumulating 12,400 Test runs at an average of 57.40 — the second-highest total in history behind Sachin Tendulkar at the time of his retirement. Sangakkara was a left-handed batsman who combined classical technique with exceptional range. Together they carried Sri Lanka's batting for over a decade.

Wicketkeeping and Leadership

Sangakkara also kept wicket for most of his career before giving it up in his later years to focus on batting.
