About KFC Big Bash League

The KFC Big Bash League is Australia's premier domestic T20 competition, organized by Cricket Australia and played across December, January, and February at venues in all six mainland states. Eight franchises — Adelaide Strikers, Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars, Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers, and Sydney Thunder — each play a 14-match home-and-away season before a three-stage finals series culminating in the BBL Final. The BBL was relaunched in its current franchise format in 2011 and quickly became the most-watched domestic cricket competition on Australian television, drawing peak audiences above one million for prime-time matches. Perth Scorchers have been the most successful franchise in the competition's history by titles won, while Sydney Sixers have been the most consistent performers across the league era. The Big Bash window coincides with the Australian summer holiday period, allowing day-night fixtures at iconic venues including the MCG, SCG, Adelaide Oval, and Optus Stadium to draw large family crowds. International players are eligible to participate under Cricket Australia's overseas player rules, subject to their own board's No-Objection Certificate process. GeoCric covers every Big Bash League match with live scores, the current BBL ladder, batting and bowling statistics, and post-match scorecards.
