About ICC World Test Championship 2025–27
The ICC World Test Championship is the premier competition in the longest format of cricket, contested over a two-year cycle that accumulates points from all bilateral Test series between the twelve Full Member nations. The 2025–27 cycle began in June 2025 and runs through to the final at Lord's Cricket Ground, London, in mid-2027. Under the WTC points system, each series is worth 120 points distributed across the matches played, with teams ranked by percentage points won (PCT) to account for series of different lengths. The cycle covers every major Test series — Ashes, India vs Australia, South Africa vs Pakistan, New Zealand vs England, and tours involving the Caribbean, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, and Afghanistan. Selection for the WTC Final has become the primary motivation driving touring sides to field full-strength Test squads, reversing the T20-prioritisation trend that threatened the long-form calendar through much of the 2010s. The two top-ranked sides at the end of the qualification window meet at Lord's, one of cricket's most storied grounds, in a standalone five-day final — a format that gives Test cricket its own unmissable season climax. GeoCric tracks the live WTC 2025–27 standings, PCT rankings for all twelve nations, and scorecards for every qualifying series.
